If your child loves Barney you’ll be excited to know that there’s a new series of board books that have just launched featuring the famous purple dinosaur.
The Barney board books are available in both English and Afrikaans, and they have important themes to help teach children up until the age of three years old. The range includes a book on colours, numbers, sounds, animals, first words and bedtime.
The books are sturdy and a great size for little hands to hold, and also small enough to pop into your bag for outings or a trip away. They all include brightly coloured illustrations which will capture the attention of even a young baby, and the well-chosen themes make them perfect to engage and teach your child, all the while they are having fun with Barney too.
I loved that Amy was able to read the books together with Ethan, asking him to point out certain objects and testing his colours in the My First Colours book or getting him to count how many items on each page in the My First Numbers book. My First Words, My First Animals, All Sorts of Sounds and Bed Time for Barney are all good for introducing your child to reading from an early age and encouraging your child to expand their vocabulary.
