Be inspired this World Book Day

Today is World Book Day, and a reminder to spend some extra time reading your child’s favourite book. We have of late been extending bedtime in our house because of ‘one more book’ requests, but I’m happy my kiddies are excited about reading and so enjoying an extra book together in the evening has become one of my favourite times of the day.

We have all heard about the importance of reading: of how it increases vocabulary, enhances concentration, as well as inspires imagination and creativity.  But do you know that reading builds a bond between you and your child, it’s a time that you can enjoy one on one time together, and in this world that has become so busy this has become even more important.

It is said that “children fall in love with books because of the memories created when they snuggle up and read with someone they love.” So, snuggle up, read some books, and share the love! Say yes to one more book, I promise that you won’t regret it, and you may even earn one more hug and goodnight kiss too.

You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book – Dr Seuss.
