We already have a few titles from Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet on our shelf, so we were delighted to receive this new book EGG to read.
Your kids will laugh reading about an upside down egg, he doesn’t look like the other eggs who have a pointy top and a big bottom. All the eggs try to change him to look more like them, they try turning him upside down and even dressing him up, but he finally insists that he’s happy the way he is and that they are all the same no matter how they look.
There is only one word in the book, egg, but its repeated using different emotions that help to build the story. This also makes it very easy for even young readers to enjoy the story and read it themselves. It’s the funny illustrations that bring the story to life and promise to make your children giggle.
EGG is a simple story, but with an important lesson of celebrating acceptance. It’s available for a recommended retail price of R147 and is recommended for children aged 3 to 6 years of age.
