Fantastically Great Women Who Saved the Planet

There have been women in the past who have done incredible things, and I believe that women in the future will continue to achieve incredible things too. With everything the world is facing at present I can’t help but hope that women will play a part in helping to save our planet right now.

So, there’s never been a better time to teach our children about Fantastically Great Women Who Saved the Planet.  This new book from Kate Pankhurst tells the stories of women who have spent their lives protecting the Earth.

Each double spread tells us more about these woman who used their skills and voices to look after our world. You’ll learn about Eugenie Clark who dedicated her life to studying sharks, Wangari Maathai who fought to highlight the threats of deforestation in Kenya, and Ingeborg Belling who showed us that even small creatures like bees have important things to teach us.

Anita Roddick’s commitment to stop animal testing and promise to recycle still inspires many today, and there are many more women in this book who will also inspire the young children of today to ask themselves ‘how will I save the planet?’

Fantastically Great Women Who Saved the Planet features wonderfully detailed and beautifully coloured illustrations (also done by Pankhurst), making the book an excellent introduction to a few of the women who have blazed trails and helped to protect our natural world, and both accessible and inspirational even for young readers.

Be sure to also keep an eye out for other fantastically great women too! There is also Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World, Fantastically Great Women Who made History, and Fantastically Great Women who Worked Wonders in this series.

Fantastically Great Women Who Saved the Planet is available for a recommended retail price of R165.
