Peep-through and say goodnight with Pooh Bear

Winnie the Pooh holds a special place in my heart. Not only have I always thought he was one of the classics, but my little girl has cuddled with her Pooh Bear every night since she was very small. The new Goodnight Pooh book is a beautiful bedtime story featuring the famous characters from the Hundred Acre Wood.

The story of Christopher Robin getting ready for bed with his favourite furry friend is told through sweet rhyming verses on each page along with beautifully illustrated pictures in soft pastel colours. Each alternate page also has a peep-through hole that encourages young readers to look through and find the answer to the question posed, while it has been cleverly designed to highlight different objects once the page has been turned too.

It’s a lovely bedtime story for small children, and I enjoyed reading it to my kiddies who loved the pictures and the interaction that the peep-through holes allowed. It’s a great small size that makes it easy for little hands to hold themselves, and easy to pop into a bag for a trip away too. It’s a board book so it’s sturdy as well, which means you can even encourage the little ones to enjoy reading it alone.

There may be many new characters for children these days, but Pooh Bear will always be my favourite bear. With books like Goodnight Pooh I’m happy to be able to share my love of the classics with my children, and pass on that love to a new generation to enjoy.

Goodnight Pooh is available for R170 from online retailers and leading bookstores now.

Last word from Amy: “I like Pooh bear in it and Christopher Robin and Piglet.” She then says to me, while laughing, “peep-through Winnie the Pooh, what do you see inside?”

Thanks to Penguin Random House South Africa for giving us another reason to love Winnie the Pooh!
