Counting down to the new Star Wars film is always tough for any fan, but now with less than a week to go that galaxy doesn’t seem quite so far, far away anymore! Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases in cinemas across South Africa on the 15th of November (this Friday!), and to celebrate there are awesome new products available in stores.
My favourite pick is the new Funko Pop collectibles, new figures that have been added to this popular range include Supreme Leader Snoke, BB-9E, Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. Hasbro also has some awesome products, including 12-inch figures from the new film as well as an Imperial Probe Droid and Darth Vader. The electronic Star Wars Light Sabers are pretty neat, and I challenge anyone who tests it out to try make your best imitation of what a real light saber sounds like!
LEGO is always a big hit, and now there are new sets for The Last Jedi to keep any Star Wars fans entertained (no matter their age!). There is the Heavy Assault Walker to add to the First Order army, or you can build the huge model First Order Star Destroyer. There’s even Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter or a Resistance Bomber.
The First Order Stormtrooper Robot by UBTECH Robotics will be the ultimate gift this Christmas. You’ll be able to take control of this app-enabled First Order Stormtrooper robot, and with voice command capability, facial recognition and patrolling capabilities the Resistance will be challenged to question whether these are the droids you’re looking for.
Star Wars Battlefront II is available for the gamers among us on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, while if you prefer to just watch a bit of Star Wars action on your TV you can enjoy Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on DVD and Blu-Ray. Season three of the animated Star Wars: Rebels is also new to DVD.
As you can see there are plenty of stocking fillers for Star Wars fans, and a few out of this world wishlist items too, it all depends on whether you’re shopping for a young Padawan or a Jedi Master.
