Barbie is heading out on a new adventure, and this time she’s going into her favourite video game! Barbie Video Game Hero sees Barbie transformed into a fun roller-skating character who must use her gaming skills to beat the game and save her team.
The DVD is available now at leading toy retailers for R120, along with a number of exciting new Barbie Video Game Hero Barbies.
The Video Game Hero Barbie (retailing at R229) caught my eye right away as her outfit has a distinct video game feel to it. She even comes packaged with two power-ups and two pixel characters from the movie, that appealed to the video game mom in me! Being a gamer means that I’m a collector of course, so the six awesome gaming style inspired Barbie Video Game Junior Dolls (for R129.99 each) also look very interesting to me.

The amount of Barbie movies I’ve watched (with my daughter) is pretty darn high. From being set in the ocean (A Mermaid’s Tale) to far beyond our heavens (Star Light Adventures). We’ve seen ’em all (or close to ’em all).
As a trade-off, I’ve introduced her to Lego.
