Winnie the Pooh, Pooh and Friends: A touch-and-feel book

Combining a sensory interaction with reading was a brilliant idea, and the Pooh and Friends: A touch-and-feel book is no different with beautiful illustrations, engaging tactile elements and a fun story featuring our favourite friends from the Hundred Acre Wood.

As soon as kiddies have this book in their hands they will want to explore it, with Pooh Bear’s tummy on the cover being a wonderfully soft yellow oval inviting them to stroke it. Inside you’ll read about Christopher Robin’s blue rain boots and be able to feel how smooth they are, before seeing Tigger bouncing across a river with soft furry black stripes. Piglet’s fleecy jumper and Eeyore’s woolly coat are next, before a wonderful surprise of a rainbow coloured peek-a-boo umbrella with the friends hiding behind it.

Pooh and his friends are each depicted in a more traditional way, with the colouring being soft and pastel. The board book is sturdy and a good size for little ones to hold and read, either together with you or by themselves. While they may enjoy listening to the story, it’s the textures on the pages which will grab their attention first and keep them interested in this book for many storytimes.

Winnie the Pooh: Pooh and Friends a Touch-and-Feel Book is available from bookstores and online retailers at a recommended retail price of R195.

Last word from Amy: “I like Pooh Bear’s tummy feeling so soft, and its nice to wear gumboots when you splash in the puddles.  I like reading it at bedtime, because I love this book, it’s the best.”

Thanks to Penguin Random House for nurturing our love for Winnie the Pooh.
