1st Case

Angela Hoot graduated ahead of her peers and enrolled in MIT, but this young tech genius now wonders where her life will go next when she’s kicked out of the programme for hacking. Her skillset it seems is in demand though because she’s offered an internship at the FBI which she grabs with both hands.

Her first case is not an easy one however, a family has been brutally murdered and she’s tasked with searching a phone found at the scene for any clues. Digging into the secrets that the phone holds, Hoot soon discovers that there is a sinister app installed and the team must now follow a digital trail to learn more about exactly what the app is capable of and uncover who is behind it.

Seeing the world of crime fighting through the eyes of a new intern gives you insight into how the FBI approaches cases like this, there are long nights and plenty of danger when a task force is investigating a murder. 1st Case is a fast-paced thriller, but you’ll also get a dash of romance as well as passion for friends and family in this story.

1st Case by James Patterson and Chris Tebbetts is available from bookstores and online retailers for a recommended retail price of R310.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for sharing this thriller with me.
