Aalfred and Aalbert

Aalfred and Aalbert is the story of two aardvarks, one who “loved stars, broccoli and picnics” and one who “loved flowers, sunshine and cheese.” Both aardvarks also loved sleeping, but their paths had never crossed because one slept all night and the other all day.

Both Aalfred and Aalbert did think about being part of a pair, but being preoccupied with broccoli and cheese as they were, it seemed like nothing would change. Luckily for the two aardvarks somebody had been watching, and this small blue bird hatched a plan involving an alarm clock, dressed up broccoli, and even a ball of string. But still the aardvarks didn’t meet, and only in trying to cheer the bird up did Aalfred finally stumble upon Aalbert… “and they all lived happily ever aafter” of course!

Aalfred and Aalbert is a wonderful story about friendship and love with brilliant comical and bright illustrations that will both captivate your young children and have them in giggles. This is the third book by Morag Hood that I have added to my bookshelf, and I know you will enjoy reading it as much as we have together if you add it to yours too.

Aalfred and Aalbert is available in hardback at book stores and online retailers for a recommended retail price of R260. It’s recommended for children aged three to six years.

Thanks to Pan Macmillan for introducing us to Aalfred and Aalbert.
