Busy Jungle, Busy Safari (Book Review)

The Busy Books from Campbell Books are fantastic board books that will help encourage an early love for reading. There are two new additions to this fantastic push, pull and slide series, Busy Jungle and Busy Safari, and both are available in English and Afrikaans!

Busy Books

These small board books are great for little hands to hold, and with bright and bold illustrations they will be sure to capture the attention of any young child. The Busy Books will also engage them thanks to the push, pull and slide mechanisms which will allow your children to splash a baby elephant and run fast like a cheetah in Busy Safari or snap like a crocodile and find the hiding tiger in Busy Jungle.

Busy Safari

Each double page features a beautiful scene, introducing the reader to many different wild animals. It also features a short sentence to read with gentle rhyming text and poses a question which prompts the child to search for the answer. I love that as your children grow they can learn to identify more of the animals in the book too…a great way to start your budding little game rangers on their journey! These would also make a fantastic present for a new parent or parent-to-be as they are suitable for even the very little ones.

If you’re looking for the Afrikaans versions of the books keep an eye out for In die Oerwoud and In die Wildtuin. They’re perfect for first language Afrikaans kiddies, or to introduce Afrikaans to a child who isn’t first language English. Having the opportunity to discuss animal names is always a great place to start learning new words!

Busy Jungle and Busy Safari are available for R134 each.

Thanks to Pan Macmillan for sending me these books in exchange for an honest review.
