I love you little one

I’m always on the lookout for new bedtime stories for my children, and this new animal bedtime story book is so sweet that it was the perfect addition to our bookshelf. We really enjoyed the Goodnight Baby Moon book from publisher DK (check out my review if you like), another wonderful story for bedtime with a beautiful light up moon on the front cover. If you’ve read this book you should definitely check out the new I love you little one.

You will meet a host of lovely animals and their babies in I love you little one, each presented through striking silhouettes and bold colours that will captivate even a young child’s attention. The animal babies each ask their parent “how much do you love me?” and each parent’s answer is different yet charming.

No longer will you only have to tell your own child ‘I love you to the moon and back’, but now you can increase your repertoire to ‘I love you more than the moon’s glowing light’ or ‘I love you more than all the stars at night.’ So beautiful and so easy for them to understand too.

I love you little one will help you put into words and pictures just how much you love your child, but it also gives you the opportunity to teach them about different animals and what those animal babies are called. From elephants in a glowing orange savannah to whales in a deep blue sea and even monkeys in tall trees, the book is filled with brilliant bright colours splashed behind the silhouettes or highlighting different areas of the various habitats, and as such presents an opportunity to discuss colours and objects too.

It’s a sturdy board book so would make a great gift for a young child, while the repetition, gentle rhymes and beautiful moonlit scenes will make it a popular choice for bedtime.

I love you little one is available from book stores and online retailers for a recommended retail price of R195. It’ recommended for children aged from birth to three years.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for sharing this beautiful bedtime story with us.
