Krok en Dil Lees Reeks

These books are great for helping your children to learn to read Afrikaans, both for first language Afrikaans families and for children who are not first language Afrikaans. I’ve found it’s great to have Afrikaans books in our home to read together and that it helps Amy with her Afrikaans at school. We are already fans of Krok en Dil so the kids jumped at the chance to read this new “Ek lees!” series that Pan Macmillan kindly sent to us.

Krok en Dil Lees Reeks

Krok and Dil are best friends, and they always have fun laughing together. From bath time in the dam, to looking for a missing pet, cooking with a spin, cloud watching or dressing up, there’s always an adventure to be had!

There are ten books in the Level 1 series, each helping your child to learn a different sound. The books are brightly coloured and the story is brought to life with fun illustrations of Krok and Dil by Nadia du Plessis. Each book features a word list at the back which includes additional words with that particular sound.

Krok en Dil will make learning to read Afrikaans fun, you won’t be able to stop yourself from smiling which is a great foundation to have when learning to read!

You can find out more about children’s Afrikaans picture books in my feature here.

Thanks to Pan Macmillan for sending me these books in exchange for an honest review.
