KZN Blogger Meetup: making new friends, learning new things

Being a blogger is hard work, it has it’s up and downs. One day you may receive an exciting new delivery and feel on top of the world, the next day may be a little less exciting as you struggle to balance everything in your life and not drop any of the balls that you’re carefully juggling in the air. No one understands this better than another blogger, and that’s why it was so amazing to join other bloggers at the KZN Blogger Meetup this past weekend.

We met at the wonderful Iwantmycoffee venue in Umhlanga, where beautiful chalk drawings adorned the walls and a delicious spread of food and drinks awaited us. It was great to chat to other bloggers, and I met some awesome new friends, each so passionate about their blog, whether they were mom blogs, beauty blogs, or travel blogs.

Susann Deysel from Goddess organised the meetup, and a big thanks to her for arranging such inspiring speakers for the morning along with an assortment of amazing spoils in our goodie bags. Verushka Ramasami from Spice Goddess gave a heartfelt talk about building your brand and what she has learned on her blogging journey so far, while Nelisiwe Zuma from Conversation Lab gave us an insight into brand campaigns and tips on blogging. Sharla Chetty from MUD was there to share more about this exciting make-up brand with us, while Ryan Waters from Rain Africa explained what this awesome brand stands for.

We got to make new friends, learn new things, and a few lucky bloggers even won some fantastic prizes from the event’s sponsors. It was a happy and inspiring morning, and I’m looking forward to the next one already!

Thanks to the sponsors of the KZN Bloggers Meetup: Rain Africa, Mud South Africa, Dupe Factorie, Origin Bespoke Stationery, Vita Liberata, Environ, Milk Solutions, Dr Dermal and Elle Kay Fabrics. As a blogger I appreciate your support and I can’t wait to share more with you all as I unpack my goodie bag over the next little while, so watch this space.
