Just So Stories

Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories is a wonderful collection of five popular tales from this great English writer. The unique stories have been re-imagined and retold in classic rhyming verse, beautifully illustrated with colourful pictures so that a new generation of children can enjoy these wonderful stories.

Little ones will love hearing how the whale got his teeny tiny throat, or how the lazy camel got his hump. How did the rhinoceros get his thick, wrinkly skin, and how did the elephant get his long trunk? There is of course also the story of the cat that walked by himself.

Just So Stories is a beautiful hardcover book and a classic that deserves a spot on your child’s bookshelf. It was first published by Macmillan in 1902, a record of the bedtime stories told by Kipling to his young daughter who requested the stories to be told in exactly the same way each night, ‘just so.’ It’s still published by Macmillan and is today considered a classic of children’s literature.

The verses written by Elli Woollard are humourous, and the wonderful illustrations from Marta Altes will be sure to have your children giggling. Just So Stories is available at a recommended retail price of R265.00 from bookstores and online retailers.

Thanks to Pan Macmillan for letting us share these stories with our children, just so.
