The Rumbling Rhino (Book Review)

The Rumbling Rhino is a wonderful new picture book from local author Roslynne Toerien and illustrator Julie Smith-Belton. The rhyming story and beautiful illustrations will make this a popular choice at story time, but its the important message on poaching and what we can do to help save these beautiful wild animals that really stands out.

We attended the book’s launch a short while ago where Roslynne read the story to us. I loved watching the children participate, again highlighting how fun reading aloud to our children is.

The Rumbling Rhino encourages children to help and to stand up for our rhinos, showing our young leaders of tomorrow that they can make a difference. It also includes some interesting facts about rhinos at the end as well as a fun challenge to find all the hidden dung beetles in the book, both features which my children always enjoy in books. And I have to mention how much I love the stunning end-papers!

Roslynne has partnered with Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary and a portion of the proceeds of the sale of this book will be donated to them.

Do your children also enjoying reading stories with animals?

Thanks to Penguin Random House for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.
