Have you read a Where’s Wally? book before? The premise is simple, you need to search a very busy and detailed picture for Wally. Wally is always dressed in a red and white striped shirt with blue pants and wears a red and white striped hat with a red pompom. This should make him easy to spot, right? Well not quite, because other people and items in the picture will also be red and white striped, catching your eye but not yielding the prize of finding Wally. He may also be slightly hidden in the picture, making it even more difficult to spot him.
There’s something so satisfying about searching for and finding Wally though, and even though it can be quite frustrating if you can’t spot him, it is also very rewarding when you finally do. There are always other items to spot in each picture too, making sure you will spend plenty of time with this book.
My children love Where’s Wally? Together we sit searching for him and it’s always a race to see who can find him first. So we were all excited when the new Where’s Wally? Exciting Expeditions arrived with us to review, and just in time to keep us all entertained during the school holidays too!
Where’s Wally? Exciting Expeditions is a wonderful travel-sized book full of searches, games, puzzles and creative activities. There are even challenges for you to keep track of your own travels, making this a fantastic keepsake too. It’s a great book to pop into your child’s bag if you’re planning a trip, it will keep them entertained on the car ride and also while you’re away from home.
There’s a challenge to unscramble words, write your own packing checklist, and all the while you can spot Wally on every scene with more things to find listed too. Write down where you’re going and draw a picture of your favourite vehicle, play spot the difference, complete a maze or a crossword puzzle. This Exciting Expeditions travel book has it all!
Where’s Wally? Exciting Expeditions is a great idea to keep your little ones busy during a holiday, especially if you’re heading off on your own exciting expedition. I love how even the little ones can enjoy it with helping to spot Wally, but the book can also appeal to older kids who will enjoy the challenge of the activities inside and be inspired by the creative prompts.
Where’s Wally? Exciting Expeditions is available in book stores and online retailers for a recommended retail price of R185. It’s recommended for children aged five to twelve years of age.
