Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, What Can You See?

Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, What Can You See? is the second book in the “Wiggle and Giggle” series. While the first book (Puppy Dog, Puppy Dog, How Are You?) focused on feelings, this time around we are given the chance to learn about the senses.

The book cover features a cut-out, and with a happy cat with big eyes peeking through your toddler is going to want to open this book! You’ll be able to introduce your little ones to sight, hearing, smell and taste with short rhyming verses, brightly coloured animals, and sliding tabs.

The cat sees a fly, and you’ll be able to slide the tab from left to right to make her eyes move. Next up is a donkey who can hear a fly, and as you slide the tab up and down her ears move to show a buzzing fly. Kiddies just love sliding the tabs and it makes reading a fun, interactive time to spend together, and a book you won’t mind them choosing again and again.

This board book is sturdy, a good size for little hands to hold, and is able to encourage discussion about the senses, the different animals and the sounds they make, and even colours. But it’s the sliding tabs that will stand out to your children, and definitely keep this on their A list for quite some time.

Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, What Can You See? is available at a recommended retail price of R155 from bookstores and online retailers.

Last word from Amy: “I like the kitty cat with the eyes. And I really like the fox and the juicy fly.”

Thanks to Pan MacMillan for keeping our reading time fun with twitching noses and buzzing flies.
