Be a Virus Warrior! A Guide to Keeping Healthy

When the pandemic hit our shores in March earlier this year the word coronavirus was on everyone’s lips and it seemed to be all that we talked about. With the schools shutting down, the lockdown being imposed and none of us able to see families and friends, it’s a topic that we were forced to discuss with our children. As parents we do our best to protect our children, so we tried to give them a version of the virus that wouldn’t scare them. But with every aspect of their lives having changed overnight this was not an easy task to do.

Be a Virus Warrior! A Guide to Keeping Healthy is a new book that offers a great way to discuss what a virus is (including the coronavirus) with your children. It’s presented in a way that children can understand this sensitive topic without feeling nervous, offering tips on how to stop the virus from spreading, how to keep yourself and your home germ-free, and how to wash your hands.

Despite the serious topic throughout the book your child will be put at ease and reassured to not fear viruses. It’s a wonderful tool to encourage them to be a virus warrior and it would be a great addition to help educate learners at schools too.

Be a Virus Warrior: A Guide to Keeping Healthy by Eloise Macgregor is available from bookstores and online retailers for a recommended retail price of R90. It’s also available as an e-book and in Afrikaans.
