Have festive fun with Penguin Random House this holiday! (Gift Guide)

Schools are out and the summer holidays are officially here! While we may enjoy the slower mornings and the break from lunchboxes for the next few weeks, the novelty of being at home soon wears off with the kids and it never takes long before the dreaded ‘b’ word is uttered (“Mom, I’m bored!”). I’ve put together a list of fun festive products from Penguin Random House to help keep little hands busy in the lead up to Christmas.

From a fun Christmas Snap game to stunning Magic Painting Books, from a magical story CD to a beautiful snowy puzzle (we can still dream of a white Christmas, right?), there’s something for everyone to have fun with this holiday.

I hope you will love what I’m featuring in the guide as much as I do. Don’t forget to let me know which is your favourite!

Enchanted Christmas Magic Painting Book (R175)

The magic painting books from Usborne are such a fun activity for children. All the joy of painting without any of the mess! Kiddies simply brush water over the black and white illustrations in the book and the scenes burst into colour. They are guaranteed to love painting the pictures of elves wrapping presents and decorating a snowman, special animals singing carols or skiing and ice skating. The paintbrush is included and slots neatly inside the cover for easy storage. There’s even a flap at the back of the book which you can unfold and place under the page you’re working on to prevent the paint from seeping onto the page below.

Book & Jigsaw In the Forest (R235)

We’ve all dreamed of a snowy Christmas before, so why not build one with this beautiful 100 piece In the Forest jigsaw puzzle. Your children will delight in spotting the wonderful forest animals featured in the puzzle, including foxes, birds and rabbits. There’s even two fun snowmen and a skating squirrel to discover! The pack includes a 24 page picture puzzle book, where little ones will be challenged to spot, match and count the forest creatures. There is also a black and white version of the puzzle for children to colour in.

Christmas Magic Painting Book (R175)

This magic painting book includes 16 festive scenes – from Christmas trees and stockings, to nutcrackers and gingerbread houses. It’s perfect for holidays away as you don’t need any paint, simply brush water over the illustrations and you’ll be amazed at the beautiful colours that appear. It even includes a paintbrush and is a fantastic way to let the kids enjoy painting without any of the mess!

Christmas Snap (R149)

The perfect festive card game for the whole family to have fun with this holiday, and small enough to pop into a bag for a trip to granny’s house too! There are 26 pairs of cards in the box, with snowmen, reindeer, stockings and more featured to match and win the game. In addition to bringing hours of fun, this snap game is a great way for young children to develop word and picture matching skills.

Ladybird Christmas Treasury (R175)

The perfect way to bring magical Christmas tales to life for little ones. It’s great for rainy weekends spent indoors, to help pass the time on car trips, or just for some any day festive fun. The treasury features a mix of six modern and traditional stories, including The Christmas Story, Reindeer’s Christmas, Snowman’s Christmas, Santa’s Christmas, Fairy’s Christmas and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for sponsoring this holiday guide!
