Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct is the new thriller from James Patterson and one of the most gripping books I’ve read this year. The story had me engrossed right from the beginning, and as the plot unfolded I found myself riveted by a tale that seemed all a little too real in today’s world.

Dr Dylan Reinhart has worked hard to build a new life for himself and his family, but that will slowly start to unravel as he is drawn back into the complicated world he chose to leave behind. A terrifying terrorist attack in New York has left the authorities reeling, and with more attacks threatened it becomes a race against the clock to discover the identity of the attacker and catch him before his scheme is carried out.

Reinhart teams up with Detective Elizabeth Needham, and together they set out to outsmart and catch the killer. We get a glimpse inside these specially skilled characters’ minds as the story is told through first-person narrative, and are left wondering who they can trust as the fast-paced chase intensifies.

I can’t wait to now read Instinct, the first book by Patterson and Howard Roughan where Reinhart and Needham are thrown together to try and solve a gruesome murder by a serial killer.

Killer Instinct is available from book stores and online retailers for a recommended retail price of R290.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for sharing this thriller with me.
