Cars 3 Happy Tin

Lightning McQueen is back in the spotlight with Cars 3 on the big screen, and number 95 seems to still be winning hearts even after all these years. If you haven’t yet watched the new film it’s a great option for a fun outing with your kids these winter holidays (read my Cars 3 movie review to see what the new story is all about).

Getting out of the house is important, but as a mom I’m always looking for new ways to entertain my children at home too. I’ve always found that stickers and colouring in are well received and can keep my daughter entertained for quite some time. The Cars 3 Happy Tin includes both stickers and colouring in, so it’s a win in my books!

The tin itself is brightly coloured and features both Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez on the cover. The two cars can also be seen racing the sides of the tin, along with favourites from the film including Jackson Storm and Doc Hudson. I’ve always found that my kids enjoy packing different things inside containers so the tin is great for future play, whether that’s storing colouring in and stickers or leaves gathered on a walk outside.

Inside the tin you’ll find a double-sided poster – Jackson Storm, Cruz and Lightning McQueen feature on one side while the other side has McQueen under a big number 95 and you can colour this in. There are also four felt tip pins included (red, yellow, orange and blue), so your kids can get started right away. You will also find a page of awesome stickers, which includes all the cars you know from the film along with racing numbers and fun racing inspired stickers.

Three books are tucked inside the tin – a sketchbook, a colouring book and an activity book. “Super Speedway Sketches” will be enjoyed by older kids who would be inspired and able to tackle a great variety of challenges. These range from creating a trophy or a racetrack to using grids to copy pictures of different cars. “Fast Friends Colouring” includes different pictures of the cars to colour in, along with a short description of that picture above. The book flips upwards, which I’ve found to be useful when kids are colouring in when we are on the road or when they are sitting on their beds. “Race Ready Activities” is a small book that tasks one with connecting the dots, spotting the odd one out, or The answers are all included on the last page of this book which is handy if you want a bit of help or want to check your answers.

If you’re going away and want a few fun new activities to keep your children busy the Cars 3 Happy Tin is a good choice. It offers a few options for your kids to enjoy, and has everything you need packed inside to do that with.

The Cars 3 Happy Tin is available at a recommended retail price of R245 from online retailers and bookstores.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for inspiring our racing creativity.
